EMI TUYETNHI TRAN is an editorial intern at NBC News covering news for NBC's diversity verticals — NBC BLK, NBC Asian America, NBC OUT, and NBC Latino.

 

She is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania and the first-born daughter of Vietnamese immigrants. Emi was an Asian American Journalists Association 2023 VOICES fellow, and currently serves as Executive Editor at The Daily Pennsylvanian. Before that, Emi interned with THE CITY, a nonprofit newsroom based in New York City, on the MISSING THEM project — a COVID-19 memorial and accountability project.
